King Wins Third Commission Term

From Staff

Shoshone County Commissioner Jack King, who won a third term in Tuesday’s election, was busy picking up campaign signs Wednesday and feeling pleased.

“It’s kind of humbling when you can get 65 percent of the vote after a third run,” he said. “I won in every precinct.”

King, a Democrat, received 2,513 votes to defeat independent Jon Ruggles, who got 1,377 votes.

King, a retired electrical contractor, lives in Prichard. He was elected to a two-year term in 1993, then ran unopposed for a four-year term. He will now serve a final two-year term.

Ruggles, a carpenter and civic activist, is a Wallace resident.
