Semi Accident Blocks U.S. 95

A semitruck that dumped a load of wood chips Thursday on U.S. Highway 95 in Boundary County blocked traffic for several hours, Idaho State Police troopers said.

The accident happened about 10:30 a.m. on Highway 95 at state Highway 1, just south of the Canadian border.

Ronald E. Barker, 56, of Corvallis, Mont., was northbound on Highway 95 in his semitruck when he failed to negotiate a curve and the trailer tipped onto a car driven by Ted Funk, 66, of Kimberly, B.C.

Funk was able to get his car out from under the trailer before it tipped completely onto its side, dumping the wood chips, troopers said.

No one was seriously injured. An investigation into the accident continues.
