Art On The Edge Classes Start Today
Free art classes for teenagers and children will begin today at the Youth First Recreation Center in Post Falls.
The classes will be held every Tuesday from 3:30 to 5 p.m. for 6- to 12-year-olds and from 5:30 to 7 p.m. for 11- to 18-year-olds. Today’s class will be a paper-making workshop. Other classes are as follows:
Nov. 24 - Papier mache
Dec. 1 - More papier mache
Dec. 8 - Christmas gifts
Dec. 15 - Gingerbread houses
The classes are part of Art on the Edge, a free art program that aims to provide a creative environment for people age 6 to 18 and to foster problem-solving and goal-setting skills.
The 4-year-old, volunteer-run program has served more than 200 children.
Classes also are held in Coeur d’Alene at the Cultural Center at City Park for 6- to 12-year-olds on Wednesdays from 4 to 5:30 p.m. and for 11- to 18-year-olds on Thursdays from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
Art on the Edge is sponsored by St. Vincent de Paul.

The Recreation Center also will hold a workshop for making Fimo clay beads separate from Art on the Edge.
Karen Starr will teach the bead-making session on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon for teen from 14- to 18-years-old. The cost for the Fimo bead-making session is $20, which includes materials.
