Eva Beck Spokane

Eva (Kramer) Beck, was born 100 years ago today in Big Hole, Mont., and was raised in Deer Lodge, Mont.

She married Otto Beck, her childhood sweetheart, on Aug. 28, 1917.

The Becks lived in Anaconda, Mont., for 60 years.

She sold Avon products and served as a deacon in the First Presbyterian Church. She also worked on the election board and was an avid gardener.

They moved to Spokane in 1985 to live with their daughter, Maxine VanDenburg. Before Mr. Beck died at the age of 95, the couple celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.

Beck is a member of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church and still enjoys playing cards, which she says keeps her mentally sharp.

Beck’s other children are Bonnie McMorris of Spokane; Marie Lunston of Seattle; Doris Julius of Cupertino, Calif.; and the late Reynold Beck. She has 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
