Oregon State Pulls Away From Eastern

Five players scored in double figures as Oregon State (2-1) built a 23-point halftime lead and coasted to 100-54 victory over the Beavers in the Oregon State University Classic Friday at Corvallis, Ore.
Senior guard Courtney Horner was 3 of 6 from 3-point range and led the Eagles with 14 points.
OSU center Sissel Pierce, a former Wishkah Valley player who led her team to a State B title in 1995, led all scorers with 15 points on 7-of-10 shooting.
EWU plays Ohio University in the consolation game today.
OSU meets UC Irvine in the championship game.
Colorado 77, Idaho 66
At Boulder, Colo., Alli Nieman had season highs of 30 points and 11 rebounds, but the University of Idaho couldn’t hold onto its halftime lead, losing to Colorado at the Coors Classic.
Idaho, which has lost three straight, dropped to 2-3. Colorado improved to 2-2.
“It was our game to win, but we didn’t execute very well under pressure,” said Idaho coach Hilary Recknor, whose team led at halftime 32-31.
The Vandals were outrebounded for the fifth time this year, 42-32.
The Vandals play Miami (Ohio) today in the consolation game.
CCS 80, Olympic 59
Three Sasquatch guards combined for 46 points to lead CCS to an 80-59 win over Olympic Community College in the Bigfoot Tournament at SFCC.
Amy George led the guard attack with 17 points. Nicole Kleopfer and Karie Pruett added 15 and 14, respectively.
In the other game, Big Bend defeated Everett 69-59.
NIC 89, Blue Mountain 50
At Pendleton, Ore., Mandy Lindhe scored 14 points and Becki Huddle added 11 to lead the Cardinals past the Timberwolves in the season opener for both teams.
Bianca Ryan had six steals for NIC.
