Concession Stand Burglarized, Trashed

From Staff

Police are studying fingerprints taken from a fire extinguisher cabinet to determine who trashed a Lake City High School concession stand.

Vandals pried open a metal, roll-type window cover on the concession stand to get into the booth.

Once inside, they dumped popcorn on the floor, sprayed the contents of a fire extinguisher around the stand and broke into a locked cupboard containing school sweatshirts, according to a police report.

School officials are trying to determine if any candy and shirts were stolen. Damage to the window cover was estimated at $150.

It was not known how much damage was done inside the concession stand, which is run by the school’s DECA students.

The damage was discovered Friday morning. School officials believe the break-in occurred Thursday night during the homecoming dance.
