Funding Released For Plots Along Rivers

A federal trust bankrolled by oil and gas royalties will provide $750,000 to acquire scenic ranches along the Salmon River totalling 141 acres.

The Land and Water Conservation Fund money for easements at the Shepp Ranch near Riggins and Yellow Pine Bar was authorized Thursday by the Senate Appropriations Committee, said Sen. Larry Craig, a committee member.

The committee also released funding for Three Island Crossing near Glenns Ferry and the Conant Valley Range on the South Fork of the Snake River.
