Tibetan Fire
Brad Pitt may have brought “Seven Years in Tibet” to the silver screen, but there’s nothing glamorous about the 21 years Tsetan Kyaping spent as a Chinese political prisoner.
Today, the Seattle area resident and his daughter sell a line of Tibetan food products under the Khatsa label — which translates to “hot mouth” — including a variety of hot sauces and a barbecue marinade.
A portion of the profits goes to support Tibet’s Mount Everest Nature Preserve.
Price: $5-6 for 9 ounces; $12.95 for hot sauce gift pack including the “Tibetan Book of the Dead.”
Available: In Spokane at Joel and Global Folk Art Bazaar (no gift pack); for a complete catalog, call 1-888-542-8728 or visit www.khatsa.com.
