We Could Use An Armistice
You’d think environmentalists would be happy with the findings of a federal report, that fish in the Coeur d’Alene River basin are safe to eat. But they aren’t. At least, Idaho Conservation League spokesman Scott Brown isn’t. He calls the report “a whitewash.”
On the other side, Community Leaders for EPA Accountability Now (CLEAN) applauded the findings.
Then, CLEAN would have decried the report’s “extremism,” if it had found the fish were unsafe to eat.
It’d be nice if both sides greeted this good news by saying, “Hey, that’s great. Now, let’s turn our attention to the big problems still out there.” It’d also help their credibility.
