Outlook: Andre, second at state in the long jump last year, has her sights set on a state title and a school record held by Corissa Yasen. Ambrose and Thompson hope to repeat as state medalists. The girls should challenge for a regional title. The boys program continues to improve.

Outlook: LC’s boys knocked off regional power Lewiston last year and hope to repeat. LC’s strengths are athletes in many events and depth. LC’s girls also could contend for a regional crown. They’ll certainly have a good share of state qualifiers.

Lewiston Bengals

Coach: Wade Hillman

Outlook: Lewiston’s boys have the quality to dominate duals, but may not have enough bodies to win the regional title. The Bengals will have to rely on depth in sprints and relays and the emergence of Scott in the throws. The Bengals girls are thin in numbers, but have some quality.

Moscow Bears

Outlook: The Bears don’t have the depth to challenge for regional titles, but they certainly possess quality. Moscow’s move to A-1 means the regional points will be spread out more than ever. The Williamses and Liou will challenge for individual titles.

Outlook: Every time you think graduation has hurt the Trojans, they surprise. This year shouldn’t be any different. Quesnell bemoans the loss of some key athletes, but in the end Post Falls will be in the mix for team titles in both boys and girls.

Outlook: Senior Nicole Maloney, a standout pole vaulter and distance runner, has been lost for the season with a a knee injury. “She might be able to come out late and pole vault, but it looks very slim,” Sharrai said. Two of the four legs in Sandpoint’s state champion 400-meter relay team return in Nieman and Vanhorn.
