For A Real ‘Blast,’ Take In This Comedy

“Blast From the Past” is a a mostly enjoyable comedy about a family that spends 35 years in a bomb shelter, mistakenly thinking that nuclear war has wasted the Earth. They emerge to find a different kind of wasting has occurred. Brendan Fraser, Christopher Walken and Sissy Spacek show surprising comedic ability. Only Alicia Silverstone is the acting equivalent of nails on a blackboard. But, then, you can’t have everything.
