Elway Announcement Delayed

The expected announcement of quarterback John Elway’s retirement from the Denver Broncos has been delayed - likely until Wednesday - a Broncos team spokesman said.

Elway all but announced his retirement in an interview Saturday.

He had considered making a formal announcement today, but it has been put off out of respect for victims of the massacre at Columbine High School near Denver.

Funerals for some victims will be held today.
