5Th Bookfest Coming Soon
Book fans, mark your calendars: Northwest Bookfest will be held Nov. 13-14 at Seattle’s Washington State Convention and Trade Center.
That’s a bit of bad news for those of us who were fans of the previous venue - old, cold Pier 48 on the city’s waterfront. Yes, it was drafty. Yes, it was hard to find parking. And, yes, the outdoor privies were less than inviting.
But Pier 48 had Atmosphere (note the capital A).
Among the better-known regional authors expected to attend: David Guterson (“East of the Mountains”), Ivan Doig (“Mountain Time”), Pete Fromm (“Night Swimming”), Pam Houston (“A Little More About Me”), Craig Lesley (“River Son”), Kathleen Tyau (“Makai”) and Jim Whittaker (“A Life on the Edge: Memoirs of Everest and Beyond”).
