Before You Sit, Take A Sip In Sandpoint

Sipping wine and sampling cheese seems like a perfect primer for a summer night filled with classical music.

That’s what Wine Sellers of Sandpoint — organizer of “Taste of the Stars” — hope anyway. This wine tasting fundraiser makes its debut before The Festival at Sandpoint’s finale Sunday night. Proceeds from the tasting will benefit the festival.

The tasting will feature more than a dozen Northwest producers including Sandpoint’s own Pend d’Oreille Winery and Spokane vintners Knipprath Cellars, Mountain Dome and Latah Creek. Cheddar and the like will be provided by Pend Oreille Cheese Co.

Tickets — available at Memorial Field — are $10 and include a commemorative glass. (The concert tickets are $18.50 on top of that.) You can start “tasting the stars” at 6 p.m. The Spokane Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Gunther Schuller plays at 8.
