Albert Menning Steptoe, Wash.

Visitation for Albert S. Menning, a longtime Steptoe resident, will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Bruning Funeral Home in Colfax, Wash. Private burial will be Friday at Bethel Cemetery in Steptoe. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mr. Menning, who was born in Ree Heights, S.D., died Sunday. He was 87.

He was a farmer in South Dakota for several years before marrying his first wife, Verna Ericson, in 1939 and moving to Whitman County.

He operated farms in the Colton, Steptoe and Albion, Wash., areas until becoming employed as a custodian and bus driver with the Steptoe School District in the mid-60s.

His wife died in 1965, and he married Gussie Hayes Knittel in 1971.

He was a member of the Steptoe Community Church, the Steptoe Volunteer Fire Department and a 50-year member of the Steptoe Grange and the Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Jimmy Menning of Taiwan; a daughter, Lana Levy of Spokane; two stepdaughters, Sandi Glorfield of St. John, Wash., and Sherri Pagliari of Elk Grove, Calif.; one stepson, Ron Knittel of Germany; a brother, Andrew Menning of San Bernardino, Calif.; two sisters, Ann Farmer and Ruth Menning, both of Spokane; four grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren, three great-grandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Steptoe Grange or the Whitman County Transplant Fund.

Ted Thompson Clarkston, Wash.

Memorial service for Ted A. L. Thompson, 93, will be Feb. 12 at Merchant Funeral Home in Clarkston.

Mr. Thompson, who was born in Cody, Wyo., died Jan. 16.

He attended Shattuck Military Academy in Minnesota and the University of Idaho.

He married Emilou Daubert in 1929. She died in 1983.

Mr. Thompson worked as a salesman for the Wells Chevrolet Co. and Eldrige Buick, both of Spokane, in the late 1920s. He later became a life insurance agent with Northern Life Insurance Co., Penn Mutual Insurance Co., Oregon Mutual Life Insurance Co. and Western Life Insurance Co.

From 1955 until his retirement in 1990, Mr. Thompson worked as an investment representative for Metropolitan Mortgage and Securities Co. Inc. He moved to Clarkston after his retirement.

Mr. Thompson was a member of the Episcopal Church and a 57-year member of the Elks Lodge.

Survivors include his longtime companion, Helen Preston of Clarkston; a daughter, Suzanne Adams of Walla Walla; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Lucy (Petrettee) Haydon-Hubbard Spokane

Vigil for Lucy (Petrettee) Haydon-Hubbard, will be at 5:30 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Mass is planned for 10 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mrs. Haydon-Hubbard, who was born in Spokane, died Monday.

She graduated from Holy Names Academy and worked at the Kaiser Aluminum Mead plant during World War II.

Mrs. Haydon-Hubbard later began working as a mail sorter for the U.S. Postal Service, before retiring from the passport and claims department in 1992.

She was a member and served as shop steward for the U.S. Postal Service Workers Union, and was a member of the Eagles Lodge Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and the Northeast Community Center.

Survivors include her husband, Richard; two daughters, Mary Ellen Engquist and Jennie Kendall, both of Spokane; a brother, Angelo Petrettee of Spokane; two sisters, Mary Lou Johnson of Spokane and Helen Kofmehl of Chandler, Ariz.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Aileen Lockard Spokane

Vigil for Aileen C. Lockard, 83, will be at 7 p.m. today at Hennesesy-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Mass is planned for 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Private inurment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mrs. Lockard, who was born in Spokane, died Sunday.

She attended the University of Washington where she was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority and served as president of Pan Hellenic.

Mrs. Lockard later worked as a receptionist in the health care industry for several years and was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Richard; a son, Patrick Lockard of Spokane; a daughter, Judy Barrington of Spokane; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Kevin Crain Spokane

Memorial service for Kevin Crain, 48, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at The Club, 1700 W. Seventh. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.

A longtime Spokane resident, Mr. Crain died Jan. 24 of heart failure.

Born in Spokane, he worked in the radio broadcasting business in Seattle, Pasco and Alaska over the years.

He is survived by his son, Scott Crain.

Addison Robinson Spokane Memorial service for Addison “Add” Robinson, 98, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North.

A 70-year Spokane resident, Mr. Robinson died Friday. He was born in Dickinson, N.D.

Mr. Robinson graduated from Shattuck Military Academy in Fairbault, Minn., in 1917 and studied accounting at a business college.

He moved to Spokane in 1928 and served with the Marine Corps during World War II.

Mr. Robinson was an accountant in Spokane for 50 years, including owning and operating Allied Accounting Service for several years. He retired in 1995.

He was a lifetime member of Elks Lodge 228, Washington State Certified Public Accountant Association, Dickinson Lodge 32 and the Masonic Lodge.

His first wife, Mabel, died in 1987.

Survivors include his wife of ten years, Donna; two sons, Addison Robinson of Lewiston and Donald Robinson of Newhall, Calif.; a brother, Howard Robinson of Winona, Minn.; four grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Albert McNeely Spokane

Funeral for Albert H. McNeely, 86, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Fourth Memorial Church. Burial will be at Fairmount Memorial Park. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North is in charge of arrangements.

A 45-year resident of Spokane, Mr. McNeely died Monday. He was born in Fremont, Neb.

Mr. McNeely graduated from Polk (Neb.) High School in 1930 and worked as a dispatcher and a telegrapher for the Union Pacific Railroad for 13 years.

He headed west in 1947, working as a vacuum cleaner salesman. He traveled through Nebraska, Wyoming and Montana before moving to Spokane in 1953.

Mr. McNeely also worked for Elecrolux Vacuum Cleaner Co. in Spokane for 15 years before retiring in 1977.

He was a 28-year member of Fourth Memorial Church.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Pearle; a son, Jerry McNeely of Spokane; two daughters, Charlene Powell and Charlotte McNeely, both of Longview, Wash.; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

John Sciuchetti Kellogg

Service for John Frank Sciuchetti, 86, will be today at 1 p.m. at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Kellogg. Shoshone Funeral Service in Kellogg is in charge of of arrangements.

Mr. Sciuchetti, who was born in Harrison, Idaho, died Monday.

He was a lifelong North Idaho resident and in 1935 married Rose Macri.

Mr. Sciuchetti worked with the Civilian Conservation Corps, the Sunshine Mining Co. and retired from the Bunker Hill Mining Co. in 1974.

He was a member of the Bunker Hill 20-year Club and the Industrial Union.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years; two sons, Don Sciuchetti of Spokane and Richard Sciuchetti of Kellogg; a brother, Louie Sciuchetti of Kellogg; six sisters, Jean Stowe of Spirit Lake, May Bidmar of Spokane, and Marjie Burrell, Helen Bailey, Betty Howard, and Mary Goslar, all of Kellogg; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Allan McIntire Cheney

Funeral for Allan L. McIntire, 70, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Cheney Funeral Chapel. Private burial will be at Spokane Memorial Gardens.

Mr. McIntire, who was born in Booneville, Ark., died Tuesday.

He served as a Seabee with the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific.

He moved to Cheney in 1976 and worked for Middco Tool Co. in Spokane for many years. He retired in 1996.

He was an avid golfer and was a member of the Inland Empire Senior Golf Association.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Gabriele; two sons, Edward McIntire of Cheney and Allan McIntire Jr. of Deer Park; a daughter, Alicia McIntire of Seattle; two brothers, Jesse McIntire of Truth or Consequences, N.M., and Howard McIntire of Seaside, Calif.; five sisters, Daisy Huntley of Seaside, June McIntire of Albuquerque, N.M., Violet Holding of Houston, Ida Purcella of Coquille, Ore., and Julia Hauskins of Olathe, Kan.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Ruth (Mann) Lemley Cheney

Visitation for Ruth Lillian (Mann) Lemley, 94, will be from noon to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home, and from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home in Cheney. Funeral is planned for 1 p.m. Monday at Cheney United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Spangle (Wash.) Cemetery.

A 54-year Cheney resident, Mrs. Lemley died Jan. 30. She was born in Spokane.

She graduated from Eastern Washington University and taught kindergarten and primary grades for the Medical Lake School District for many years.

Mrs. Lemley was a member of the Alpha Delta Kappa Teachers Sorority and the United Methodist Women’s Society.

Her husband, C. L. Lemley, died in 1988.

Survivors include a daughter, June Roloff of Cheney; and two granddaughters.

Harold Tremaine Spokane

Funeral for Harold L. Tremaine, 83, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Private burial will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.

Mr. Tremaine, who was born in Petersburg, Ill., died Monday.

He served with the Navy during World War II aboard the USS Lexington. After his discharge in 1946 he followed his father into the florist business.

From 1956 until his retirement in 1980, Mr. Tremaine worked in the botany department at the University of Illinois and in 1986 moved to Spokane.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Katharine; two daughters, Kathryn Masse of Lake Jackson, Texas, and Joan Clarke of Spokane; a brother, Brady Tremaine of Modesto, Calif.; a sister, Betty Cameron of Atlanta; and seven grandchildren.

Dale Belieu Belle Plaine, Wis.

Memorial service for Dale Clyde Belieu, a former longtime resident of Republic, Wash., will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints at Indiana and Post in Spokane. Swedberg Funeral Home in Gresham, Wis., is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Belieu, who was born in Spokane, died Jan. 24. He was 49.

He lived in Republic for many years, where he was a mechanic and a cook. He also was a volunteer firefighter and a volunteer with the Big Brothers and Sisters.

He moved to Belle Plaine a short time ago.

Survivors include a daughter, Jessica; two stepchildren, Jason Ross and Jennifer Flatt, both of Spokane; three sisters, Gayle Vetsch of Deer Park, Donna Deno of Norman, Okla., and Judith Knope of Gresham; a brother, William Belieu of Smelterville, Idaho; and two stepgrandchildren.

Impi Ohman Pinehurst

Service for Impi Johanna Ohman, 67, will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the Kellogg Funeral Chapel. Burial will take place at Hunt Cemetery in Kingston, Idaho.

Mrs. Ohman, who was born in Kingston, died Monday.

She graduated from Kingston High School in 1950 and married Clarence Ohman that year.

Mrs. Ohman was a lifelong Silver Valley resident and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years; three children, Steven Ohman of Spokane, Jerry Ohman of Smelterville, Idaho, and Sharon Bush of Pinehurst; a brother, Bill Hietala of Coeur d’Alene; a sister, Helvi Walker of Lynnwood, Wash.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Marian Gonwick Spokane

Funeral for Marian H. Gonwick, 82, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be at Spokane Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Gonwick, who was born in Edmund, Wis., died Friday.

She worked as a messenger clerk for the Great Northern Railway, which later became the Burlington Northern Railroad, for 15 years.

Mrs. Gonwick was a Spokane resident for the past 54 years.

Her husband, Vernon, died in 1981.

Survivors include a son, Larry Gonwick of Spokane; three daughters, Diane Morden, Sandy Eldred and Melody Malek, all of Spokane; 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Gerald Adams Spokane

Funeral for Gerald C. Adams, 76, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Riplinger Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.

A lifetime Spokane resident, Mr. Adams died Tuesday.

He graduated from Rogers High School in 1940 and served with the Navy during World War II.

Mr. Adams worked for the U.S. Postal Service before retiring in 1978 and was a lifetime member of First Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Geneva; two sons, Bob and Larry Adams, both of Spokane; a daughter, Darlene Clute of Raymond, Wash.; a brother, Robert Adams of Spokane; and 12 grandchildren.

Evelyn Nagle Spokane

Memorial Mass for Evelyn M. Nagle, 76, will be at 10 a.m Saturday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A 49-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Nagle died Sunday. She was born in Big Bay, Mich.

She was a homemaker.

Her husband, Dean, preceded her in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Jyll Hunt; and a grandson.

Meta Titars Spokane

Memorial service for Meta Titars, 86, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Private burial will be at Fairmount Memorial Park. Hazen and Jaeger funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A 49-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Titars died Jan. 30. She was born in Latvia.

Mrs. Titars owned and operated a greenhouse for several years.

She is survived by a niece in Newport, Wash., and numerous relatives in Latvia.
