Irene Nebelsieck Moscow, Idaho

Viewing for Irene F. Nebelsieck, 88, will be Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Short’s Funeral Chapel in Moscow. Service will be Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Genesee, Idaho. Burial will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.

Mrs. Nebelsieck, who was born in Genesee, died Monday.

She graduated from high school in Genesee and from Lewis-Clark Normal School with a degree in mathematics.

Mrs. Nebelsieck married Jack Nebelsieck in 1933 and taught home economics classes from her home. She also was a farmer and homemaker.

She was active in 4-H projects and worked at Green’s Cleaners in Moscow for several years. She was a sorority and fraternity house mom at the University of Idaho.

Mrs. Nebelsieck later worked as a cook at the Moscow Care Center during the 1970s.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, where she was active in a Bible study group and senior citizens group.

Her husband in 1977.

Survivors include four grandchildren, Teri Perrine of Montesano, Wash., David Nebelsieck of Moscow, Cheryl Nebelsieck of Seattle and Chris Nebelsieck of Genesee; and one great-granddaughter.

Memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Genesee.

Hugo Baer Post Falls

Visitation for Hugo Russell Baer, 84, will be today from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at English Funeral Chapel in Post Falls. Service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls.

Mr. Baer, who was born in Fruitland, Idaho, died Monday.

He lived in California and worked as a millwright in the cabinet industry.

Mr. Baer moved to the Post Falls area 22 years ago from California.

He was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Janie; two sons, Douglas Baer of Arizona, and Randy Baer of Pennsylvania; two stepsons, Charles Gay and David Long, both of California; a stepdaughter, Anne Drost of Pennsylvania; two brothers, Bill Baer of Post Falls and Henry Baer of Rathdrum, Idaho; a stepbrother, Ed Borgens of Coeur d’Alene; a sister, Hellen Waller of Boise; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Christ the King Lutheran Church, 1700 Pennsylvania Ave., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814.

Donald Sanford Hauser Lake, Idaho

Private service for Donald Robert Sanford, 74, will be held at a later date. English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Sanford, who was born in Bridgeport, Conn., died Monday.

He served in the Pacific Theater with the Marines during World War II and then lived in California.

Mr. Sanford married Doreen Janes in 1943. She preceded him in death.

He worked as a painter for Lockheed in the aerospace industry before retiring in 1987 after 15 years.

Mr. Sanford moved to Coeur d’Alene 11 years ago from Calfornia.

Survivors include two daughters, Diane Adams of Coeur d’Alene and Deborah Marcella of Hauser Lake; two sisters, Muriel Ross of California and Susan Kerrigan of Nevada; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Deborrah Chatfield Hayden, Idaho

Memorial service for Deborrah L. “Debbie” Chatfield, 45, will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Hayden. Coeur d’Alene Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Chatfield, who was born in Phoenix, died Monday.

She married David Chatfield in 1975 and moved to Coeur d’Alene shortly afterward.

Mrs. Chatfield was a member of the Coeur d’Alene Jehovah’s Witnesses and served as a full-time volunteer minister, pursuing Bible education for 22 years.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Brandi Archuleta of Elko, Nev., and Rhianna Chatfield of Hayden; a son, Seraiah Chatfield of Hayden; her father and stepmother, Robert and Sherry Aja of Tuttle, Idaho; her mother and stepfather, Doris and Arvin Thomas of Hayden; her grandmother, Matilda Aja of Buckeye, Ariz.; two brothers, Robert Aja of Caldwell, Idaho, and Phillip Aja of Boise; and a sister, Denise Yassine of Virginia.

Wayne Mountjoy Hayden, Idaho

Memorial service for Wayne Mountjoy, 78, will be Friday at 1 p.m. at English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene. Mr. Mountjoy, who was born in Kalispell, Mont., died Sunday.

He grew up in Hot Springs, Mont., and graduated from Mountain State University in Connecticut.

Mr. Mountjoy worked as a chemist for the U.S. Geological Survey in Denver for 35 years before retiring and moving to the Hayden area in 1978.

He married Eleanor Anderson in 1952 in Naugatuck, Conn.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Douglas Mountjoy of Gig Harbor, Wash.; two daughters, Linda Mountjoy of Seattle and Anne Worth of Coeur d’Alene; two brothers, James Mountjoy of Hayden and Lewis Mountjoy of Camas, Mont.; two sisters, Mildred Knodle of Nebraska and Margaret Trisolini of North Carolina; and three grandchildren, Sarah, Alison, and Timothy.

Larry Smith Careywood, Idaho

Memorial gathering for Larry A. Smith, 64, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Coffelt Funeral Service in Sandpoint. Burial will be at Pack River Cemetery near Sandpoint.

Mr. Smith, who died Monday, was born in Nebraska.

He lived in Nebraska and Colorado before moving to Sandpoint in 1949.

Mr. Smith graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1952 and then served with the Army as a paratrooper at Fort Campbell, Ky.

He later returned to the Sandpoint area and worked as a heavy equipment operator in logging and construction and competed in horse shows in the Northwest and Canada. He trained horses that competed nationally.

Mr. Smith was formerly active in numerous Bonner County equestrian organizations and youth programs.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Gerry; three children, Mike Smith of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, Dan Smith of Careywood, and Larri Bond of Vancouver, Wash.; two sisters, Joann Chronic of Sagle, Idaho, and Jeanine Arrigo of Spokane; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
