School Plant Levy Set For March 30

From Staff

The Boundary County School Board has decided to reschedule the district’s plant facilities levy for March 30.

The levy originally was scheduled for Feb. 16, but had to be postponed because of a failure to meet all the legal advertising requirements for conducting the vote.

The proposed levy is intended to pay for construction of a new high school. It would cost voters $1.19 million a year for 10 years.

Some residents were reluctant to support the levy because of the possibility that the Idaho Legislature might pass laws to help school districts with new facilities.

Supporters of the levy have said that the delay will allow that issue to be resolved before the election.

Plans for election day will remain the same; polls will be at the county schools, open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
