Dozens Apply For School Board Posts

More than two dozen Bonner County residents have applied to serve on two new school boards in the county’s newly formed school districts.

West Bonner County School District No. 83 has 16 applicants. They are Mitch Green, Kay Anderson and Cindy Hatala for Zone 1; Tim Cary, Ralph Fulp, Bill Boyd, Susie White and Jason Johnson for Zone 2; Eric Eldenburg for Zone 3; Susan VanNatter, Sonya Yount, Barney Petersen, and Leonard Parenteau for Zone 4; and Kenneth Corning, Larry Allen and Charles Bauer for Zone 5.

In East Bonner County School District No. 84 the applicants are Dexter Vogel, Ingrid Morrow, and Christy Whittaker for Zone 1; Gerry Suppiger, Keith Contor and Ann Souza for Zone 2; A. Forest Melchert and Thomas Scott for Zone 3; Jim Cooper for Zone 4; and Todd Reed and Monica Beaudoin for Zone 5.

The Bonner County School District was split into two districts by voters on Nov. 8. The state Board of Education will select the new trustees at its Jan. 25-26 meeting.
