Spotlight: Winter Fun

It figures to be a fun weekend on the slopes for those who want to try something different.

Saturday is the Tele Daze Telemark Ski Race for all skill levels at 49 Degrees North. Racing starts at 11 a.m. Cost is $35, which includes a lift ticket. If you’re a season-pass holder, it’s $20.

Sunday will be Skifest, a nordic ski and snowshoe demo at the Mount Spokane Nordic Center. It’ll run from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Lessons, tours and equipment rental are free, but participants need a Washington Sno-Park permit to park at the Mount Spokane ski trails area.

Permits are available at cross country ski shops.
