Charge Dismissed Against Chiropractor

From Staff

A charge of practicing without a license has been dropped against former Post Falls chiropractor Jeffrey Schwartz.

Post Falls Prosecutor Joel Ryan asked a judge to dismiss the charges, saying he did not believe he could prove the allegation beyond a reasonable doubt. First District Court Magistrate Eugene Marano granted the request on Wednesday.

Schwartz still faces two misdemeanor charges of sexual exploitation by a medical care provider. His chiropractic license was revoked in December by the Idaho Board of Chiropractic Physicians. A trial date has not been set.

Post Falls police began investigating Schwartz last May after a 28-year-old woman said she had been raped during an office visit with the 51-year-old chiropractor. Five other patients, ranging in age from 28 to 49, and a 31-year-old former employee later came forward with allegations of forced sex acts, improper touching and unwanted sexual advances.
