Kootenai Students All Above Average
Students in the Kootenai Joint School District scored significantly higher than the national and state averages in standardized tests taken last fall.
The district in Harrison has a little more than 300 students attending its two schools. Students across the state in grades three through 11 took the tests. A score of 50 means the student scored better than 50 others in a group of 100 students.
The average student scores in the Kootenai District by grade were:
Third grade - 74
Fourth grade - 81
Fifth grade - 75
Sixth grade - 75
Seventh grade - 93
Eighth grade - 85
Ninth grade - 86
10th grade - 95
11th grade - 54
The Kootenai Joint School District’s scores were inadvertently omitted from a previous story about how school districts in Kootenai County fared on standardized tests.
