Trustees Appointed In Bonner County

Temporary trustees have been appointed for each of the recently created Bonner County school districts.

The State Department of Education’s recommended candidates were approved Tuesday morning at a state Board of Education meeting. The trustees will serve until May 18, when an election will be held for each district.

The temporary trustees for West Bonner County School District No. 83 are: Zone 1, Vernon Melvin; Zone 2, Bill Boyd; Zone 3, Eric Eldenburg; Zone 4, Sonja Yount; Zone 5, Kenneth Corning.

In East Bonner County School District No. 84, the trustees are: Zone 1, Dexter Vogel; Zone 2, Ann Souza; Zone 3, Thomas Scott; Zone 4, James Cooper; Zone 5, Charles Bauer.

“I would be remiss if I didn’t say that all the applicants would have done a good job,” said Jerry Pelton, with the Department of Education. Pelton was on a committee that reviewed applications and made the recommendations.

The committee made recommendations based on letters of application, the applicants’ education, their interest in education, and any recent board experience they may have had.
