Coleman Lights Up Priest River

Curtis Coleman made 5 of 6 from 3-point range as Timberlake fought off visiting Priest River 75-71 in Intermountain League boys basketball Friday.

Fighting from a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter, the Spartans used several baskets, including a 3-pointer, to come within four at the end.

Travis Puckett scored a game-high 22 for the Tigers.

The Wildcats used an 13-point effort by Mike Mangum to surpass the visiting Badgers.

Mangum also pulled down 10 rebounds as the Wildcats controlled the backboards 38-22.

Todd Bateman led the Badgers with 17 points.

Jared Bligh’s game-high 24 points led the league-leading Eagles to a victory over the Warriors at Harrison.

Drew Baker added nine assists and teammate Phil Hanks grabbed eight rebounds for the Eagles.

An effective press by the Eagles slowed Kootenai’s offense. Not a single Warrior scored in double figures.

The Wampus Cats used a solid 30-of-54 shooting from the field and 18 of 22 from the foul line to defeat the visiting Tigers.

George Klontz led the Wampus Cats with five steals and 8-of-12 shooting from the field while scoring 18 points. Teammate Nate Stutzke added 16 points and five steals in the win.

Clark Fork forced 28 Mullan turnovers.

The Miners stole the ball with 19 seconds remaining and Craig Zanetti hit a jumper to edge the Knights at Lakeside.

Tim Fleming’s two free throws pulled Wallace within 59-58. Fleming finished with a team-high 17 points.

Dustin Brouse had a game-high 24 points and collected four rebounds, four assists and three steals for the Knights. Adam Kolar controlled the boards for Lakeside with 10.

The league-leading Wampus Cats used Charlotte Scofield’s balanced play to maul the visiting Tigers. Scofield collected nine points, six rebounds, three assists and four steals.

Shana Worcester had nine points, six rebounds and four steals for the winners.

Three Mullan players led the Tigers with six points each.

The visiting Eagles practically defeated the Warriors from the foul line, scoring 19 of their first 25 points on free throws.

Falls Christian finished with 33 points from the line. Kara Moate scored a game-high 16, converting 10 of 11 free throws.

Amanda Reinhardt pulled down 10 rebounds for the Warriors.
