American Express Co. said Thursday its vice chairman and chief financial officer, Richard Goeltz, will retire from the credit card company. Goeltz, 57, joined American Express three years ago from National Westminster Bank PLC. He will stay on until a replacement is found.
The Russian central bank lied to the International Monetary Fund in 1996 by exaggerating the extent of its foreign currency reserves, a senior IMF official said Thursday. He warned that funding to Russia would be cut again if it failed to carry out economic reforms.
