Time is nigh for registering for the annual Spokane City Closed Tennis Tournament. Saturday at 8 p.m., in fact, is the deadline.

The tournament, for Spokane County residents, will be held at Hart Field from Wednesday through Aug. 8. There are several men’s and women’s singles and doubles divisions. Cost is $14 per singles event, $18 per team for doubles events with a limit of two events.

The men’s open singles winner will have his name engraved on the Les Patten Trophy, which dates to 1910.
