Creativity Blooms At Artfest
The final ArtFest of the century will be a time to savor a Spokane tradition.
This summer’s edition, which begins at noon today and extends through 5 p.m. Sunday, will feature the key ingredients of the ArtFest experience: a stroll through the familiar grounds of Cheney Cowles Museum, sunshine dappling through the maple leaves, live music and art everywhere.
As always, ArtFest will feature artists whose work has been selected by a jury from applications from throughout the West. Live musicians will play everything from classical brass to reggae to country western. Food vendors will sell items such as huckleberry lemonade and crab quesadillas.
ArtFest will run today from noon to 8:30 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the grounds of the Cheney Cowles Museum, 2316 W. First. Admission is free.
Admission to the museum and the Campbell House during ArtFest will be half-price: $2 for adults, $1.50 for seniors, $1.25 for students with an ID and children 6 to 16, and $5 for families. Children 5 and under are admitted free.
Each year, this festival appears to offer an irresistible mix of entertainment.
