Robert Peabody Hayden, Idaho

Memorial service for Robert Alcone “Bob” Peabody, 84, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Grace Bible Church in Hayden. Coeur d’Alene Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Peabody, who was born in Outlook, Wash., died Wednesday.

He grew up and attended Liberty Community School in Liberty Lake and graduated from Granger (Wash.) High School. Mr. In 1942 he graduated from Multnomah School of the Bible in Portland.

He served with the Army Air Corps during World War II.

After his military service, he graduated from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, Calif., in 1948 and served as a missionary in Morocco from 1950 until 1969.

Mr. Peabody then served as a missionary in Spain until settling in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., in 1985.

He moved to Spokane in 1993 and to Hayden in 1996.

Survivors include his wife, Edithmae; four sons, Philip and Stephen Peabody, both of California, Paul Peabody of Hayden and Joel Peabody of Spokane; three daughters, Ruth Garriga of Richland, and Esther LaMarche and Lois Pardo, both of Kirkland, Wash.; a sister, Josephine Laney of Kennewick; and 19 grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Bible Church for the Gospel Missionary Union Radio Broadcast.

Manford Lund Spokane

Private memorial service for Manford Lund, 85, will be at 9 a.m. today at Pines Cemetery. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A 50-year Spokane resident, Mr. Lund, died Tuesday. He was born in Granville, N.D.

Mr. Lund was a certified pony judge and worked at Stockland Livestock Exchange for 33 years.

He was a member of the American Shetland Pony Club.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Martha; a son, Richard Lund of Post Falls; a daughter, Shirley Titus of Cheney; a sister, Adeline Price of Spokane; four granddaughters and two great-grandsons.

Andre Hatten YaJara Jones Spokane

No service will be held for Andre Hatten, 6, and YaJara Jones, 3 who died from injuries suffered in a car accident Monday near Pinehurst, Idaho. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Andre was born in Alexandria, Ind. YaJara was born in Natchez, Miss.

Andre attended kindergarten at Garfield Elementary School.

They are survived by their parents, Andre Jones and Charlotte Hatten of Spokane; three sisters, Andria and Kieria Jones at home, and ZaRonni Jones of Louisiana.

Tad Sorensen Hayden, Idaho

Service for Tad B. Sorensen, 86, will be June 26 in Salina, Utah, with burial to follow. Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of local arrangements.

Mr. Sorensen, who was born in Salina, died Wednesday.

He worked most of his life for Kennecott Copper in Ely, Nev., and Salt Lake City before retiring and moving to the Hayden area in 1978.

Survivors include a daughter, Judy Riba of Hayden; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Harold `Red’ Hauser Veradale

No service will be held for Harold E. “Red” Hauser at his request. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hauser, 67, died Tuesday. He was born in Cottage Grove, Ore.

He served in the Navy during the Korean War.

A 44-year Veradale resident, Mr. Hauser was a longhaul truck driver. He also worked for Honeywell.

Mr. Hauser was a member of the Post Falls Eagles Lodge, the Veterans of Foreign Wars in the Spokane Valley, the Amateur Trapshooting Association, the National Rifle Association and the Hauser Lake and Spokane gun clubs.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Barbara; a son, Ty Hauser of Newman Lake; two daughters, Lauri Sandy of Veradale and Kelly Owens of Otis Orchards; his mother, Irene Hauser of Post Falls; six grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane.

Mary Jene (Jeppesen) Davis Sandpoint

Private service for Mary Jane (Jeppesen) Davis, 75, was held. Mrs. Davis, who was born in Bancroft,, Idaho, died June 11.

She grew up and attended schools in Bancroft and moved to Sandpoint in 1942. She worked for the Western Union Telegraph Co. at Farragut Naval Training Station, later managing the office in Sandpoint.

Mrs. Davis then lived in Washington’s Columbia County and served as the county clerk in Dayton for 14 years, retiring in 1989.

She returned to the Sandpoint area in 1990 and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Order of Eastern Star and Bonner General Hospital Auxiliary.

Survivors include two sons, Douglas Davis of Cheney and Gregory Davis of Dayton, Wash.; two sisters, Fern Mikesell of Sandpoint and Laura Fischer of Spokane; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Marguerite `Key’ Peterson Coeur d’Alene

Memorial service for Marguerite “Key” Peterson, 83, will be Monday at 11 a.m. at English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene. Mrs. Peterson, who was born in Kansas, died Thursday.

She lived in White Sulphur Springs, Mont., before settling in Coeur d’Alene in 1923. She married Arthur Peterson in 1940.

Mrs. Peterson was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Paul Peterson of Portland; a daughter, Patricia Triplett of Hayden Lake, Idaho; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

George Manning Spokane

Memorial service for George V. Manning, 75, will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Heritage Funeral Home.

Born in Wallace, Idaho, Mr. Manning died Tuesday.

He served in the Army during World War II and received a Purple Heart after participating in the Battle of the Bulge.

A 66-year Spokane resident, Mr. Manning graduated from Eastern Washington University and taught at Shadle Park High School for 26 years.

He was a member of the Couples Dance Club.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Erlene; three sisters, Ruth Duncan, Ellen Pellanda and Elsie Oman, all of Spokane.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery or the Spokane Humane Society.

Raymond Hanson Sr. Spokane

Graveside inurnment service for Raymond Everett Hanson Sr., 62, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hanson, who was born in Monroe, Wash., died Tuesday.

He served in the Army from 1959 until 1965 and later lived in Emida, Idaho, where he worked as a logger.

Mr. Hanson lived in Post Falls for 15 years before moving to Spokane in 1997.

He worked at area sawmills before retiring as a tail sawyer and was a member of the Hillyard Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include his wife of 10 years, Pilar; three sons, Olaf and Raymond Hanson Jr., both of Post Falls, and Wayne Fuller of Olympia; three daughters, Sonia Hanson and Evelyn Lancaster, both of Post Falls, and Julia VanDinter of Spokane; a stepson, Miguel Munante of Lima, Peru; his father, Everett Hanson Jr. of Bothell, Wash.; a brother, Calvin Hanson of Monroe; two sisters, Helen of Sultan, Wash., and Essie Jackson of Bothell; and 12 grandchildren.

Lisa Smith Spokane

Service for Lisa F. Smith, 69, will be at 1 p.m. today at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South. Burial will be Monday at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Wash.

A 22-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Smith, died Wednesday. She was born in Germany.

In 1952 she married Fred Smith.

Mrs. Smith moved to Spokane in 1977 from Klamath Falls, Ore.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Fred Smith of Spokane; a daughter, Maureen Henriksen of Tacoma; and two grandchildren.
