Timber Plus Chief Stepping Down
Ruth Rathbun is stepping down as executive director of Timber Plus.
Rathbun, 58, has headed the economic development organization in Benewah County since 1992. Her last day is today.
“I just felt it was in the best interest of everyone to move on,” said Rathbun, adding that the nonprofit organization is in the midst of examining its mission.
Rathbun’s resignation, announced in February, caught Timber Plus members by surprise, president Richard Schumacker said. The parting is amicable, he added.
Rathbun is well-connected both in Boise and Washington, D.C., and was an asset to the organization, he said. Board members will be meeting over the next month to discuss Timber Plus’ direction and a replacement.
Rathbun previously worked as a district representative for former U.S. Sen. Steve Symms in Moscow. She is also a past president of the North Idaho Chamber of Commerce.
