Cello Maestro At Met For Class
Janos Starker, one of the world greatest cellists and one of the outstanding teachers of cello, will come to Spokane Tuesday to present a master class for string players at The Met. The Hungarian-born cellist is especially noted for his performances of Bach’s solo suites and for his advocacy of Zoltan Kodaly’s notoriously difficult Sonata for Solo Cello.
The public is invited to hear Starker speak on cello playing and critique the performances of student and professional cellists from the Spokane area.
Admission is free to students with school or college ID.
Admission for others is $5 at the door.
The Janos Starker Cello Master Class begins at 2 p.m. at The Met.
