Russian Violinist A Guest With String Quartet

Mischa Keylin, a highly acclaimed young Russian violinist, will be the guest artist with the Spokane String Quartet at the group’s concert Sunday at The Met.

Keylin, who made his Carnegie Hall debut when he was 11, will perform virtuoso showpieces by Saint-Saens, Wieniawski and Tchaikovsky assisted by pianist James Edmonds along with Schumann’s Sonata No. 1 for Violin and Piano. Keylin will join members of the Spokane String Quartet for Mendelssohn’s Quintet No.1.

In addition to Sunday’s concert, Keylin will present a master class for string students and their teachers today at 3:30 p.m. in the Eastern Washington University Music Building Recital Hall in Cheney. The class is free and open to the public.

The String Quartet concert begins at 3 p.m. Sunday at The Met. Tickets are $15, $12 for seniors, $6 for students, available at Hoffman Music and through G&B Select-aSeat.
