Plea Bargain Set In Aryan Nations Case

From Staff Reports

A former Aryan Nations security chief plans to plead guilty to his part in a vigilante-style attack on a woman and her son.

Edward Jesse Warfield, 43, will plead guilty next Friday, according to documents filed Thursday by his attorney in 1st District Court.

Details of the plea agreement were not available, and attempts to reach prosecutors and Warfield’s attorney were unsuccessful.

Prosecutors have charged Warfield with two counts of aggravated assault, alleging that he drove a truck carrying Aryan guards who chased and fired assault rifles at Victoria Keenan and her son, Jason, on July 1.

Warfield has admitted during a jailhouse interview that he was one of a trio of Aryan guards who chased and stopped Keenan’s car. Warfield said a guard standing in the back of a pickup he was driving shot at the car.

The men chased the car after one of them thought he heard gunshots, Warfield said. Sheriff’s deputies have found no evidence of shots being fired at the Aryan Nations compound.

Warfield had been scheduled to stand trail beginning April 27. He faces up to 20 years in prison.
