Margaret Collins Spokane

Memorial service for Margaret Brasch Collins, 79, will be at 1 p.m. today at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene. Burial will be at Forest Cemetery in Coeur d’Alene.

Mrs. Collins, who was born in Minnesota, died Friday.

She grew up in Minnesota and Spokane, and graduated from Rogers High School.She attended St. Lukes School of Nursing.

Mrs. Collins worked in various office management for various companies including Medical Service Corp.

She moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1973 and worked as a payroll clerk at Kootenai Medical Center. She returned to Spokane after the death of her husband, Wilbur Collins, in 1989.

Mrs. Collins was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include a daughter, Janet Batchelder of Spokane; a stepson, Glen Collins of Post Falls; a stepdaughter, Anita of Spokane; two sisters, Lillian Wolfe of Wisconsin and Thelma Walker of Spokane; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Pauline Smith Spokane

Memorial service for Pauline A. Smith, 92, will be at 11 a.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home.

Mrs. Smith, who was born in Seattle, died Friday.

She married Loren Smith in 1926 and they lived in Clark Fork, Idaho, until they moved to Spokane in 1943.

Mrs. Smith was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Lincoln Heights Congregational Church, a lifetime member of the Lincoln Heights Garden Club and a 42-year member of the Hobby Club.

Survivors include a son, Loren Smith of Renton, Wash.; a daughter, Margery Reid of Spokane; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane.

Florence Emery Sumner, Wash.

Funeral for Florence M. Emery, 78, will be at 1 p.m. today at Sunset Chapel at Fairmount Memorial Park. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Emery, who was born in Palouse, Wash., died Wednesday.

She married Lorin Emery in 1938 and worked as a head cook for School District 81 for many years.

Mrs. Emery moved to Sumner in 1980.

Her husband died in 1997.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry and Douglas Emery, both of Spokane; three daughters, Sharon Monson and Penny VanDyke, both of Puyallup, Wash., and Debi Cates of Algona, Wash.; a brother, Everett McCowan of Davenport, Wash.; 17 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren.

Beatrice Crippen Spokane

No service will be held for Beatrice M. Crippen. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Crippen, who was born in Tigerton, Wis., died Thursday. She was 94.

She grew up and attended schools in Spokane, and worked for the Spokane Telephone Company for 22 years.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Kenneth.
