Teens Plan Events For Suicide Prevention

In recognition of Suicide Prevention and Awareness Week, students from Sandpoint High School are sponsoring a dance and candlelight vigil this weekend.

Adolescent Suicide Awareness and Prevention formed to help prevent teen suicides in the Sandpoint area. The group is having a teen dance from 8 p.m. to midnight Friday at Sandpoint Community Hall.

On Saturday night, the students will have a candlelight vigil for teenagers who have taken their own lives. The vigil begins at 8:30 p.m. at the south end of the Long Bridge.

The events are co-sponsored by Safe Homes/Parents Who Care.
