Lemley’S Landscapes ‘Joyous’

Deanne Lemley’s landscape and figurative paintings in oil and watercolor are on display at The Art Spirit Gallery in Coeur d’Alene through June 5.

A reception for the Spokane native and West Valley High School graduate will be held Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the gallery, 908 Sherman Ave.

Lemley now hails from Redmond, Wash., where she paints and teaches in oil and watercolor.

Her artwork “combines a sensitive use of color with spontaneous and skillful brushwork,” said gallery owner Steve Gibbs, with subjects ranging from floral still lifes and landscapes to “joyous” figurative compositions with children.

Lemley’s paintings have appeared in many regional and national shows, including the recent American Water Color Show in New York. Her honors include the Windsor Newton Award from the 1998 Water Color West International Exhibit.

The gallery is open Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and by appointment at (208) 765-6006.
