Alma Sherwood Coeur d’Alene
Service for Alma E. Sherwood, 75, was Monday at English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene. Burial was at Forest Cemetery in Coeur d’Alene.
Mrs. Sherwood, who was born n Chicago, died Friday.
She lived in San Diego before moving to Coeur d’Alene in 1985. She was a homemaker.
Her husband, William, died in 1994.
Survivors include two sons, Greg Sherwood of San Diego and Mark Sherwood of Coeur d’Alene; a daughter, Linda Judd of Pinehurst, Idaho; three sisters, June Edgerton of Coeur d’Alene, and Ilene Wilson and Helen Meyer, both of California; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Barbara Steinmetz Spokane
Funeral for Barbara L. Steinmetz, 64, will be at 2 p.m. today at Riplinger Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
A lifetime Spokane resident, Mrs. Steinmetz died Thursday.
She and her husband, Larry, owned and operated Allied Plating Bumper Exchange in Spokane for 37 years.
Survivors include her husband; four daughters, Nancy Steinmetz, Linda Sharpe, Tami Love and Teri Scott; a son, Don Steinmetz; a brother, John Boberg of Crystal Lake, Ill.; and 11 grandchildren.
Dawn Glanzer Athol, Idaho
Private family service for Dawn Ellen Glanzer, 47, was held. Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Glanzer, who was born in Huron, S.D., died Saturday from cancer. She grew up in South Dakota and graduated from South Dakota State College.
In 1978 she married Adam Sullivan. She worked as supply director for the Boy Scouts of America in Las Vegas for 16 years prior to moving to Athol.
Survivors include her husband; her father, Sid Glanzer of South Dakota; a sister, Robin Davis or Absarokee, Mont.; one aunt and several nephews.
Lyle Doolittle Priest River, Idaho
Memorial service for Lyle LeRoy Doolittle, 84, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Priest River.
Mr. Doolittle, who was born in Sandpoint, died Monday.
In 1935 he married Vera Jeaunette.
He owned and operated logging business for many years.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Robert Doolittle of Priest River; a daughter, Gloria Ann McEvoy of Kenmore, Wash.; three sisters, Viola Thompson of Spokane, Evelyn Kelly of Wilbur, Wash., and Ella Baker of Priest River; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Pend Oreille Pines Nursing Home.
Philomena Dahl Coeur d’Alene
Visitation for Philomena Dahl, 88, will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Funeral Home. Service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Dahl, who was born in Belgium, died Friday. She moved to the United States in 1919, passing through Ellis Island. She grew up in Montana.
In 1931 she married William Dahl and they settled in the Rimrock area near Hayden, Idaho, in 1945. She later moved to Coeur d’Alene.
She had been active with the local Rambling Rovers and the Coeur d’Alene Eagles Lodge.
Mrs. Dahl was preceded in death by her husband.
Survivors include a daughter, Delores Johnson of Coeur d’Alene; three sisters, Leona Dahl of Coeur d’Alene, and Clementine Muri and Mary Hale, both of Montana; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Inez Oliver Spokane
Private family service will be held for Inez B. Oliver, 85. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. Oliver died Friday.
She worked at Libson’s Hosiery in St. Louis for several years before moving to Spokane 18 years ago.
Her husband of 41 years, Raymond, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Robert Oliver of Spokane; a sister, Margaret Devereux of St. Louis; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Louise McCallum Newman Lake
Funeral for Louise I. McCallum, 77, will be at 11 a.m. today at Riplinger Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pines Cemetery.
Mrs. McCallum, who was born in Ione, Ore., died Friday.
She grew up and attended schools in Lewiston and the surrounding area.
Mrs. McCallum became a licensed nurse practitioner in 1955, graduating from St. Joseph Hospital in Lewiston.
She moved to Spokane in 1958 and began working at the Good Samaritan Center that same year. She retired in 1972.
Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Bruce; three daughters, Judy Jones and Sharon Stadler, both of Spokane, and Rita Bergeson of Bayview, Idaho; a son, David Senter of Spokane; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Robert Pitner Spokane
Funeral for Robert E. Pitner, 78, will be at 11 a.m. today at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Burial will be at Spokane Memorial Gardens.
A lifetime Spokane resident, Mr. Pitner died Thursday.
He served in the Army and the Navy, and later worked as a mechanic for a tile company in Spokane.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Ruth; a son, Timothy Pitner, and a daughter, Sharon Pitner, both of Spokane.
