Remember The Floods

Ice Age Floods Plan

Volunteers are being sought to help create a four-state geologic history circuit of programs and sites focusing on regional land forms created by Ice Age floods.

Waters that burst from glacial Lake Missoula in massive floods around 15,000 years ago scoured and created much of the terrain in Western Montana, North Idaho, Eastern Washington and Oregon.

The National Park Service is seeking individuals, groups and agencies interested in helping with site selection and development.

Organizers have scheduled a Washington-Idaho meeting for Friday, 10 a.m., at the Bureau of Land Management office, 1103 N. Fancher Rd. in Spokane, 536-1200.
