North Idaho College’s Nathan DeLeon recorded the only pin of the night in his 125-pound match and teammate Eric Smith fought through a persistent nose bleed to earn a win in his 141-pound match as the Cardinals opened their dual wrestling schedule with a 26-13 win over the visiting Burnaby Wrestling Club from Simon Fraser University.

NIC lost the opening match when Burnaby heavyweight Ted Smith edged Andy West, but answered by winning six of the remaining nine matches.
