The course: Coaches say the 3.1-mile layout is considerably more difficult than the trek at Farragut State Park.

The course’s most difficult stretches include sand. The runners face three hills. The final downhill, which features the steepest descent, is a quarter-mile through deep sand. The final three`-quarters of a mile is flat and runs along the Snake River.
