Changing Channels

Former Democratic vice presidential candidate Geraldine Ferraro has joined the Fox News Channel as a political commentator for the 2000 elections. Ferraro, a co-host of CNN’s “Crossfire” from 1996-98, will appear on a variety of Fox programs before getting a regular once-a-week spot as the election season heats up. She is not the only ex-New York politician on Fox; former Sen. Alfonse D’Amato is also a Fox commentator. The former Queens Congresswoman became the first woman in U.S. history to secure a major party nomination for vice president when she ran with Walter Mondale in 1984. She has also served as ambassador to the United Nations Human Rights Commission.
