Dorothy (Norton) Peringer Belmont, Wash.

Memorial service for Dorothy (Norton) Peringer, 85, will be held at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Peringer who was born near Oakesdale, Wash., died Aug. 25.

She graduated from Tekoa (Wash.) High School and later from Eastern Washington College with a degree in education.

She married George Peringer in 1939, and they farmed in the Oakesdale and Belmont communities for 59 years.

She also taught for two years in Belmont and later in Waterville, Wash., for two years.

Mrs. Peringer designed floats for the Oakesdale royalty for many years.

She was a member of Oakesdale Community Presbyterian Church, serving as deaconess and teacher of Bible school, Sunday school and women’s Bible study classes for many years.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Sam, Rodney and Paul Peringer, all of Oakesdale; a brother, John Norton of Oakesdale; two sisters, Gladys MacQuarrie of Spokane and Frances Ensor of Davenport, Wash.; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Gerald Waite Venice, Fla.

No services will be held for Gerald Edward “Jerry” Waite, 64. Farley Funeral Home in Venice is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Waite, who was born in Toledo, Ohio, died Friday.

He moved to Spokane in 1979 and worked as an operations manager for West Coast Grocery.

In 1989 he moved to Venice, where he owned and operated Hi-Tech Finishes for several years.

Mr. Waite was a member of Moose Lodge 1308 and Eagles Lodge of Nokomis.

Survivors include his daughter, Dr. Bonnie Waite of Spokane.

Claudia `Buggie’ Keefer Spokane

Private memorial service will be held for Claudia Ann “Buggie” Keefer, 60. At her request, her ashes will be sprinkled in the Pacific Ocean on Tuesday. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.

An 18-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Keefer died Sunday of breast cancer.

Survivors include her husband of 17 years, Morrie; three daughters, Nancy Luedke and Debbie Kasuga, both of Spokane, and Barbara Kimura of Mililani Town on Oahu, Hawaii; three stepchildren, Leanne Dechand of Spokane, and David and Kendra Keefer, both of Alexandria, La.; her mother, Billie Link of Spokane; a brother, James Link ; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Patient Care of Spokane County.

Bess O’Dell Spokane

Memorial service for Bess (Gardner) O’Dell, 81, will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A 30-year Spokane resident, Mrs. O’Dell died Tuesday. She was born in Pine Creek, Alberta.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Presbyterian Church and Berean Bible Church. She also was a member of the Spokane Valley Eagles Auxiliary.

Her husband, Herman H. O’Dell, preceded her in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Merwin of Spokane; and a sister, Irma Dillon of Grand Rapids, Mich.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane.
