Spotlight: Bicycling

Two of the fall’s major bicycle events are coming up this month.

Sept. 19 is the 20th annual Autumn Century Ride. It’ll begin from the Wandermere Mall with the 100-mile full century at 8 a.m., followed by a 62-mile metric century at 9 and a 25-miler for the family or an individual at 10. Cost is $25-$35 depending on the ride.

Sept. 25-26 is the ninth annual Tour des Lacs. The ride from Spokane to Coeur d’Alene and back features six routes, six lakes, 10 towns and 12 food stops with a sleepover in the Lake City. There’s also a one-day, short-mileage option for families.
