Passes Expanded

National forests

For the rest of the year, all national forest vehicle recreation passes in Oregon and Washington will be interchangeable.

The U.S. Forest Service said the change will simplify the recreational pass system for national forests in the Pacific Northwest.

The change means those with a valid multi-day or annual pass for any fee sites, including:

Trail park sites including trailheads in 14 Pacific Northwest national forests

Okanagan National Forest, all sites west of the Okanagan River

Wenatchee National Forest not including Lake Chelan boat-in and nordic skiing.

Officials plan to continue the new system next year.
