Going Home

A family that made headlines when their baby was the first among Kosovo refugees born in the United States has returned home. Naim and Lebibe Karaliju left on Tuesday after about 15 weeks in a Dallas apartment. They were bound for the rural Kosovo village of Ferizaj. Lebibe Karaliju gave birth to a boy after she and her husband fled war-torn Kosovo. They named the child Amerikan as a token of appreciation to their adoptive home.
