Archives, Web to be topic

Churches can get help remembering the past and preparing for the future at a special workshop next Saturday at Whitworth College.

“Links to the Past and Links to the Future: Your Church’s Archives and Web Site” will be offered from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the Harriet Cheney Cowles Memorial Library on campus.

The workshop is designed for pastors, church historians and administrative assistants. It will cover how to develop a Web site, how to find free Web-site graphics, how to determine what items have historical value and how to preserve church records.

The session is free, but those planning to attend are asked to register in advance by calling 777-4433.

Activate your church

Practical ideas for ministry will be addressed during the “Activating Your Church” conference April 26-28 at Living Faith Fellowship Church in Pullman.

Over 40 topics will be addressed, including successful counseling, grounds, ushers, church finances, time management, hosting guest ministries, receptions and special events, successful evangelism, college and high school ministries, nurseries, missions, Sunday school, church law, worship, prayer and drama.

The cost is $80 per person or $145 per couple. Group rates are available. The cost includes some meals.

Seminar to focus on Holy Spirit

A “Life in the Spirit” seminar will be Friday and next Saturday at O’Connor Hall behind the Roman Catholic Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes, downtown. The seminar on the Holy Spirit will be 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. next Saturday.

Discussions will focus on salvation, new life, and receiving God’s gifts. It is free, but those planning to attend are asked to register in advance by calling the cathedral at (509) 358-4290 or (509) 747-0059.
