Cda Police Chief Finalists Drop Out
Two of the finalists for Coeur d’Alene’s top cop position will not seek the job, said Pam MacDonald, city human resources director.
Both Gregory Clark, a captain and commander of the Portland police department, and George Coxey, an international police advisor from Sterling, Colo., decided not to interview to replace retiring police chief Dave Scates.
“One said he wanted to pursue other opportunities,” MacDonald said.
That leaves three finalists for the position: Garold Spencer, a major and division commander at the Oklahoma City police department; Thomas Cronin, a commander at the Chicago police department; and Robert Gross, the assistant chief for the Kennewick police department.
The three will be in Coeur d’Alene for closed-session interviews this week and next.
A decision is expected to be made before the end of the month.
