Two From Area Attend Conference

Two local pastors made the trek to Amsterdam for the nine-day conference on evangelism. The Rev. Micah Smith of Amazing Grace Fellowship in Cheney and Dan Grether, founder of Free Indeed Ministries International, were invited to attend.

The conference included more than 10,000 delegates, and each had to be nominated and fill out an application before receiving an invitation, says Smith. Conference organizers were looking for people with the experience and passion to do the work of an evangelist, he says.

“It was an incredible experience,” says Smith, who returned to the Spokane area on Sunday.

The delegates spent their days attending workshops and strategy sessions.

Smith says he came away with the desire to “love my family and love people right here where I’m at, help people in any way that I can.”

“It was very well organized. I think it really typified the life of Billy Graham.”
