Two More Apply For Council Seats

Eight residents turned in applications for the upcoming council position opening in Post Falls.

Friday, two additional applications were handed in by Jackie McAvoy and Ed Collins. Both residents serve on the city’s Parks and Recreation Commission.

Collins owns Finishline Signs & Graphics in Post Falls, and McAvoy is retired, according to Kit Hoffer, the city’s media director.

The City Council will approve the appointment at its Jan. 16 meeting. Mayor Gus Johnson will step down as mayor because he was elected a county commissioner in November. One of the four council members will fill the mayoral seat. Both positions will be elected by the public in November 2001.
