Darrell `Butch’ Tessier Coeur d’Alene
Private memorial service for Darrell “Butch” Tessier, 80, will be held at a later date. Spokane Cremation and Burial Service is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Tessier, who was born in Watertown, S.D., died Nov. 26.
He graduated from high school in Watertown, and from 1937 to 1945 served in the Army.
After his military service, Mr. Tessier worked as a route salesman for the food service industry in Watertown, Montana and Idaho.
He and his family moved to Spokane in 1965. He owned and operated Nutone Dry Cleaners for 10 years.
Mr. Tessier later moved to Post Falls, where he and his wife, Virginia, lived for 22 years. They recently moved to Coeur d’Alene.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years; a son, Darrell Tessier of Trout Creek, Mont.; two daughters, Kathy Wirth of Rathdrum, Idaho, and Dianne Cranston of Port Townsend, Wash.; two brothers, Richard Tessier of Watertown and Darwin Tessier of Yankton, S.D.; a sister, Dorothy Schoepp of Watertown; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Lorene McIntosh Spokane
Graveside service for Lorene M. McIntosh, 78, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Fairmount Memorial Park. Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Pimento, Ind., Mrs. McIntosh died Sunday.
She was a 40-year Spokane resident and a homemaker.
Her husband of 56 years, Donald, died in 1999.
Survivor include four daughters, Penny McIntosh of Spokane, Sandy Gross of Rathdrum, Idaho, Nancy Larson of Sidney, Mont., and Donna Gallion of San Diego; two sisters, Norma Anderson of California and Mary Evans of Indiana; a brother, Paul Bailey of Indiana; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
Shirley (McClary) Prevost Loon Lake, Wash.
Graveside service for Shirley M. (McClary) Prevost, 75, will be at 2 p.m. today at Spokane Memorial Gardens. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A longtime Loon Lake resident, Mrs. Prevost died Thursday. She was born in Spokane.
She graduated from Wallace High School in 1943 and married Douglas Prevost in 1944.
Mrs. Prevost worked as a medical and legal secretary, and had also won awards for editing medical journals.
Her husband died in 1990.
Survivors include three sons, Tom Prevost of Spokane, Ray Prevost of Loon Lake and Jim Prevost of Palmer, Alaska; a brother, Elmer McClary Jr. of California; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Robert Schneider Chewelah, Wash.
Service for Robert Allen Schneider, 54, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Chewelah Civic Center. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Cemetery in Jump Off Joe, Wash.
A lifetime Chewelah resident, Mr. Schneider died Thursday.
He served in the Navy for six years during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Schneider had been working in engineering at Northwest Alloys and also had worked for Hansen Logging, the Chewelah Police Department, Western Nuclear, Arden and Vaagen Sawmills and as a Stevens County deputy sheriff.
He was a member of American Legion Post No. 54.
Survivors include his wife, Marie; a son, Robert Schneider of Deer Park; a daughter, Kellie Sheldon of Nine Mile Falls; his mother, Millie Schneider of Chewelah; two sisters, Dona Kulbeck of Everett and Mona Sturek of Sacramento, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
Howard Gage Spokane
Visitation for Dr. Howard R. Gage, 61, will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North. Memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Thursday in the Cowles Auditorium at Whitworth College. Burial will precede the service at 9:30 a.m. at Fairmount Memorial Park.
Dr. Gage, who was born in Coeur d’Alene, died Saturday.
He graduated from Davenport (Wash.) High School in 1957 and Whitworth College in 1962.
Dr. Gage taught for one year at Ritzville (Wash.) High School.
In 1969 he received a doctorate degree in mathematics from the University of Oregon.
He returned to Whitworth College and began teaching in mathematics and computer science and in 1970 became the head of the mathematics department.
Dr. Gage received the Whitworth College Students Choice Professor of the Year award in 1996.
He was a member of Whitworth Presbyterian Church for 30 years.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Judith; a son, Brian Gage of Portland; a daughter, Julienne Gage of Madrid, Spain; a brother, Robert Gage of Spokane; and two sisters, Viola Grimes of Medical Lake and Edna Johnson of Post Falls.

Laurier Brousseau Spokane
Visitation for Laurier S. Brousseau, 78, will be from 8 to 10 a.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at noon at Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Thursday at our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church.
Mr. Brousseau, who was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, died Saturday.
His family came to the United States in 1925 and settled in Minneapolis.
He graduated from Central High School in Minneapolis and during World War II served in the Navy.
Mr. Brousseau came to Spokane after the war and worked as a wholesale salesman.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Josephine; four sons, Terence Brousseau of Spokane, Timothy Brousseau of Edmonds, Wash., Robert Brousseau of Mercer Island, Wash., and Gregory Brousseau of Portland; two daughters, Cheryl Flambures of Seattle and Margaret Breen of Minneapolis; a brother, Donat Brousseau of Redondo Beach, Calif.; three sisters, Enid Knowles of Madison, Wis., Jacqueline Johnson of Minneapolis and Annetta Kueker of Baltimore; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Jacqueline Schwerdtfeger Martinez, Calif.
Memorial service for Jacqueline Reynolds Schwerdtfeger, 78, will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Montclair Presbyterian Church in Oakland, Calif. The Neptune Society of Northern California is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Spokane, Mrs. Schwerdtfeger died Wednesday.
She graduated from Washington State College and received a masters degree from the Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkeley, Calif.
Mrs. Schwerdtfeger lived in Spokane for 43 years until she moved to Pleasant Hill, Calif., where she lived for 35 years. She moved to Martinez two years ago.
She was a teacher for the Mount Diablo Unified School District in Concord, Calif. She retired in 1983.
She was a member of Montclair Presbyterian Church, and was a volunteer with Hospice of Contra Costa County in Concord, Calif., and was a volunteer child advocate for La Casa in Contra Costa County.
Her husband preceded her in death.
Survivors include three daughters, Virginia Rober of Tacoma, Carol Colon and Barbara Benedict, both of Martinez; two sisters, Virginia Schneidmiller of St. John, Wash., and Jane Pace of Crescent Bar, Wash.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

David Housam Spokane
Service for David Francis “Dave” Housam, 72, will be at 10 a.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Private graveside service will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Mr. Housam, who was born in Coeur d’Alene, died Friday.
His family moved to Spokane when he was 2 years old. He graduated from North Central High School and Gonzaga University.
Mr. Housam served in personnel during his stint in the Navy and later worked for the Postal Service. He retired in 1987 from The SpokesmanReview, where he worked as a pressman.
After retirement he worked as a driver for Avis Rent-A-Car.
He was a member of the Graphics Communication Union.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Patricia; four sons, Bill and Tom Housam, both of Spokane, Dan Housam of Cheney and John Housam of Springdale, Wash.; two daughters, Cheryl Falmo of Spokane and Cindy Mackenzie of Medford, Ore.; his mother, Violet Housam; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Clarence Lakey Spokane
Memorial service for Clarence A. Lakey, 69, will be held in the spring. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A longtime Spokane resident, Mr. Lakey died Nov. 19. He was born in Hunters, Wash.
He was a wheat farmer in the Colville (Wash.) valley for 17 years.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; a son, Tim Lakey; two daughters, Susan Blackman and Lorrie Henry; a sister, Mary Hinton; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Jon Ulen Winnett, Mont.
Memorial service for Jon Ulen, 55, was Nov. 27 at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Morton, Wash. Inurnment was held at Silver Creek Cemetery in Randle, Wash. Michelotti, Sawyer and Nordquist Mortuary in Billings, Mont., was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Ulen, who was born in Seattle, died Nov. 21.
His family moved to Spokane in 1947 and he graduated from Cheney High School in 1963.
From 1964 to 1972 he served in the U.S. Army.
He married Georgia West in 1970.
Mr. Ulen graduated from Eastern Washington University, and in 1974 was in charge of the traffic safety co-op for Harrington, Sprague and Oakesdale, Wash.
He received a masters degree in Education from Central Missouri University.
Mr. Ulen began teaching in 1975 in Oakesdale and was a junior high school principal in Lamont, Wash. He and his family moved to Okanogan, Wash., in 1980, where he was a high school principal. He was also a principal in Zillah, Darrington and Naselle, Wash.
They moved to Randle in 1995 and Mr. Ulen was the principal at White Pass High School.
Mr. Ulen retired in July from teaching and moved to Winnett. He was the school superintendent in Winnett.
He was a member of the Washington State Principals Association, the Montana State Superintendent Association, the Elks Lodge and the Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Michael Ulen of Longview, Wash., and Richard Ulen of Arlington, Texas; a daughter, Christina Ulen of Randle; his stepmother, Lauretta Ulen of Spokane; and a grandson.

DeForest Fuller Moses Lake
No service will be held for DeForest Preston Fuller, 87, at his request. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Fuller, who was born in Harrington, Wash., died Saturday.
He was a farmer and a 60-year Moses Lake resident.
Mr. Fuller is survived by his wife, Thora; and a son, Neal Fuller of Moses Lake.
Raymond Campbell Spokane
No service will be held for Raymond C. Campbell, 68, at his request. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Spokane, Mr. Campbell died Wednesday.
He served in the Air Force during the Korean War and received a Good Conduct Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal.
From 1956 to 1963 he worked as a mechanic at Boeing in Seattle.
He returned to Spokane in 1963 and worked as a mechanic in the Spokane area before retiring in 1987.
Survivors include a brother, Gerald Campbell of Seattle; a sister, Sandra Greene of Spokane; and two half-sisters, Myrene Mindermann and Marjorie Wallace, both of Colfax, Wash.
Helen (Howard) Maule Portland
No service will be held for Helen Elizabeth (Howard) Maule, 92. Burial will be held at Riverside Memorial Park in Spokane at a later date. Wilhelm Funeral Home in Portland is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Maule, who was born in Tacoma, died Nov. 15.
She married Robert Maule in 1936 and was a homemaker.
Mrs. Maule lived in Spokane for 51 years before moving to Portland in April.
Her husband died in 1984.
Survivors include two sons, James Maule of Portland and Robert Maule of Phoenix; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Harry Stockman Spokane
Memorial service for Harry Stockman, 85, is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home.
A 52-year Spokane resident, Mr. Stockman died Friday. He was born in Hamilton, Mont.
During World War II he served in the merchant marine.
He owned and managed Valley View Convalescent Home in Spokane.
Mr. Stockman was a member of the Spokane Valley Rotary Club.
Survivors include his wife, Beaulah; a sister, Eloise Templeton of Tacoma; and a brother, Dean Stockman of Monrovia, Calif.
Irving Holsinger Spokane
Memorial service for Irving Ray Holsinger, 85, was Tuesday at Fowler United Methodist Church. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Holsinger, who was born in Shickley, Neb., died Sunday.
He graduated from Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Mont., in 1942, and in 1944 married Gwendolyn Kitch.
Mr. Holsinger taught school and coached in Montana for 23 years.
He and his family moved to Curlew, Wash., in 1965, where he worked for the Forest Service in the Job Corps as a program coordinator and vocational director.
Mr. Holsinger retired in 1980 and moved to Spokane.
He was a member of Fowler United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Barry Holsinger of Federal Way, Wash., and Todd Holsinger of Lapwai, Idaho; a daughter, Gail Smith of Livingston, Mont.; two brothers, one sister, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Maxine Mead Spokane

Mrs. Mead, who was born in Bismarck, N.D., died Saturday.
She graduated from Rogers High School and was a 58-year Spokane resident.
Mrs. Mead was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Delbert; a daughter, Becky Waybright of Spokane; a son, Tracy Mead of Chattaroy; a sister, Vonnie Apjoke; a brother, Charles O’Brien; and three grandchildren.
