Cheney Stumbles

Border League

Lake City’s big man went down. Cheney’s big man was shut down.

But Lake City found the right answers, hitting 4 of 6 free throws in the final 42 seconds Friday to hold off visiting Cheney 56-51 in a Border League basketball game.

LC standout 6-foot-6 wing Matt Dlouhy crash-landed jumping for a rebound with 5 minutes, 6 seconds left.

Dlouhy was helped off the court and didn’t return. He suffered a slightly sprained ankle and is expected to return Tuesday for Lake City’s home game against West Valley.

Just 35 seconds earlier, Dlouhy had made his biggest shot when he took a kick-out pass from guard Brian Longwell and hit a wide-open 3-pointer to tie the score at 43.
