Nic Starts Fast, Cruises Past Wenatchee

Steve Bonner scored 20 points and Vasilis Tsimpliavidas 18 as North Idaho College took a 26-point halftime lead and rode it to an 89-60 nonconference men’s basketball victory over Wentachee Valley on Tuesday night.

Bonner connected on 9 of 14 shots while Tsimpliavidas hit 6 of 10, including 4 of 6 from 3-point range. Dusan Milicic added 10 points.

NIC (10-1) only outshot Wenatchee 44.3 to 40.7 percent, but the visiting Knights hit only 2 of 16 on 3-point attempts and were outrebounded 39-24. NIC spread the work out on the boards, with Bonner grabbing a team-high seven.

The Knights were led by Mark Brown’s 13 points and Tony Luper’s 11.

NIC visits Columbia Basin College Tuesday in Pasco.
